How to play

Use arrow keys (or swipe on mobile) to slide all tiles in one direction: up, down, left, or right. When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one tile with the combined value (e.g., 2+2=4, 4+4=8). After each move, a new tile (2 or 4) appears in a random empty spot. Your goal is to create a tile with the number 2048. The game ends when the board fills completely with no possible moves remaining. Plan ahead - every move matters!

  • Smooth sliding animations and responsive controls
  • Score tracking with personal best records
  • Unlimited undo for learning and strategy refinement
  • Clean, minimalist interface that focuses on gameplay
  • Mobile-friendly touch controls

Tips and strategy
  • Keep your highest tile in a corner and build around it - this prevents fragmentation
  • Focus on one corner strategy - consistently move tiles toward one corner to maintain organization
  • Create 'snakes' or 'waves' - arrange tiles in descending order to set up chain merges
  • Never fill all four edges - always leave one direction open for maneuvering
  • Think two or three moves ahead - anticipate where new tiles will appear
  • Don't make random moves when stuck - carefully analyze each option
  • Build a sequence: 2-4-8-16-32 etc., positioning them adjacently for easy merging
About 2048

2048 is a captivating sliding tile puzzle game that became a viral sensation for its deceptively simple yet deeply strategic gameplay. Created by Gabriele Cirulli in 2014, this addictive number game challenges you to combine matching tiles to reach the elusive 2048 tile. Starting with two tiles showing '2', you slide tiles in four directions to merge matching numbers - two 2s become 4, two 4s become 8, and so on. What begins as simple arithmetic quickly evolves into a complex strategic puzzle requiring careful planning, pattern recognition, and forward thinking.
